Lanterns decorating Jogyesa Temple in Seoul on Buddha's Birthday, May 21st.
Happy Birthday, Buddha! Glad to see you made it another year. Thank you for the day off and I had a great time at the party. It was the sort of day that left me with a pleasant buzz of happiness in the pit of my stomach and good will towards mankind, which is probably a fitting way to celebrate the birth of The Enlightened One. Granted my dinner of sausage/mashed potatoes/beer wasn't typical Buddhist fare, but it was delicious.
PS. Loved the decorations!

ReplyDeleteCait- I have recently started the groundwork for a webzine produced by teachers, for teachers, about life in South Korea. I am combing through the Korean Blog List and posting this message on a few of my very favorite blogs. Please know that getting this message means I have a great deal of respect for the work of yours that I have seen. I would love to have you along as a fellow pioneer for this project! Please e-mail me if you are interested- abax86@rams.colostate.edu. Hope to hear from you soon. Also, here's a link to my blog, in case you are interested... thenomaddiary.com
